The Portland Trail Blazers have announced that they have been awarded a design award from the Professional Web Designers Association, the Portland-based organization responsible for creating the standard for professional web design.
The team has been nominated for a Web Design Excellence Award, and the team will be featured on the web site next month, with the web design community expected to vote on their choice in the fall.
Portland Trailblazers head of design Josh Smith said in a statement that the design team has worked diligently to provide the team with the best web design possible and that he looks forward to sharing it with the community.
“I know that we’ve been through a lot in the past year and a half and this is a great way to commemorate the work that we have put into the site, the people that have made it what it is, and also to give back to our fans,” Smith said.
“We’re thrilled to have been recognized for the hard work that went into this.”
The Blazers received the award after winning the design contest on behalf of the team, which was also awarded an award from DesignCrowd, a website that has hosted thousands of design competitions.
The design awards are awarded annually to professional web designers, who have completed work on web sites that have generated $5 million or more in revenue.
In the past, the Blazers have been honored for their work on the team’s home web site, which they’ve been using since the team moved to Portland in 2004.
In 2015, the team won a DesignCitizen Award for their home site, as well.
