BIEN: More than two-thirds of designers in the United States work in the web design field, according to a new survey from The Atlantic’s Web Designers Network.
The survey, based on a survey of 2,000 web designers, found that designers earn an average of $42,400 a year, up from $33,400 last year.
While the survey has not been released, it does not include designers at large, nor does it include all web designers.
The survey did not examine the salaries paid to Web Design Consultants, who help companies create Web sites and manage the software they use to create them.
Web Design Companies, an association of about 400 Web Designing Companies, has lobbied the Federal Trade Commission to investigate how the industry is regulated and whether the fees are fair and reasonable.
The group has also raised concerns about pay discrepancies between smaller companies and large Web Design Designers.
In January, The Wall Street Journal reported that Web Design Agencies are among the top-earning Web Design companies, with an average annual salary of $58,000, according in part to data compiled by the association.
